A unique style of music from West Africa- the diverse genres of music played in London. Yaram Arts, African Night Fever with support from Chanya Culture presents Malian guitarist Habib Koité & Bamada at Rich Mix. Coming from a family of seventeen brothers and sisters, Habib developed his unique guitar style accompanying his griot mother. He inherited his passion for music from his paternal grandfather who played the kamele n’goni, a traditional four-stringed instrument associated with hunters from the Wassolou region of Mali. Support comes from Kora virtuoso Sura Susso, one of the freshest talents from The Gambia. WinkBall reporters Vicky Carter and Itteshad Hossain report.
