Going strong for 25 years now, the organisation ChildLine, responsible for reaching out to distressed children and youngsters in need, celebrated this special anniversary in London’s iconic Trafalgar Square on Friday June 15th 2012. Working together with BT, ChildLine were extremely excited to see the launch of BT Art Box to mark 25 years of helping young children across the UK. BT ArtBox, a project that sees London hosting an open air art exhibition in which work by leading artists and designers will be showcased and ultimately auctioned off to raise funds for ChildLine’s incredible services. With work from the likes of Lily Cole, Sir Peter Blake and Giles Deacon, the work on display was unique in it being full size replicas of Gilbert Scott’s red telephone boxes that had been re-created in these artists’ own interpretation and had their own impressionistic stamp put on it. On Friday June 15th 2012, over 80 designs were on display in Trafalgar Square for the public to see as well as a host of high profile representatives for both BT and ChildLine. Founder of ChildLine and patron of the BT ArtBox project ArtBox Esther Rantzen OBE was of course there to help celebrate the work her organization ChildLine has done over the past 25 years and to champion the great art work that was on display to the public. Down at Trafalgar Square speaking to attendees, special guest and artists were WinkBall video reporters Archie and Stefan who were finding out more about the day’s event and talk more about the BT ArtBox project and the good work ChildLine has done these past 25 years.
