WinkBall video reporters were at The HMV Forum on Tuesday, 14th June 2011 for the one-off performance of American rock band Incubus. The Californian group were formed in 1991 by vocalist and star man Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger and drummer Jose Pasillas. The band then grew to include bassist Alex ‘Dirk Lance’ Katunich and Gavin’DJ Lyfe’ Koppell, who were then replaced by Ben Kenney and DJ Kilmore respectively. The release of early album ‘Science’ in 1997, saw the band create a niche following but after the release of second album ‘Make Yourself’ the band gained more mainstream recognition, helping them achieve multi-platinum sales and giving them many successful singles. After this mainstream success came albums ‘Morning View’ in 2001, ‘A Crow Left of the Murder’ in 2003, ‘Light Grenades’ in 2006, and ‘Monuments and Melodies,’ their greatest hits album in 2009. This one-off gig was partly to promote forthcoming album ‘If Not Now, When?’ which is due for release in July 2011. Our WinkBall video reporters were there to ask fans about the influence of videos in today’s music industry and to see what they had to say to the camera before and after the band’s surprise performance! If you want your say, post on the wall below!
