WinkBall Video Reporter Lucy

Professor Vanessa Toumlin is the director of the National Fairground Archive in Sheffield, and an institution when it comes to contemporary circus. Her last production, Professor Vanessa’s Wondershow, channels the fairground sideshows of the 1930s-1950s. It includes characters such as girls in goldfish bowls, insect men, headless or half ladies, and 27,000-volt women - all in combination for a night of live quirkiness. Add a dash of aerial performances, contemporary cabaret and variety from artists including Miss Behave, Marawa The Amazing, Jon Marshall and his Sideshow Illusions, and The Insect Circus, and you’ll get a general overview of Vanessa’s latest showcase. As the Circus fest 2012 is still on at Camden’s Roundhouse for a few days, our WinkBall video reporters got the audience to talk about their experience with the nutty Professor on Friday, 27th April 2012.
