As a general rule, anything involving ‘cake’ can only mean good things… Birthday cake, Christmas cake, “I have cake…” So the ExCel London’s hosting of ‘Cake International: The Cake Decorating and Baking Show’ on Saturday 28 March is one for the diary of the sweet-toothed. Expect live competitions and demonstrations from Knightsbridge PME, experts including Paul Da Costa Greaves and Tracey Mann, top authors, demonstration theatres and prestigious competition classes. Oh, and, cake, lots and lots of cake. With over 100 exhibitors to mix it up with, you are bound to find someone to whisk up some new bakery inspiration. New techniques and products will be displayed from across the world so; no matter if you’re a batter beginner or a cake connoisseur, you will learn something new to add to the (cake) mix. This is the first time the Excel centre in London is hosting the Cake Decorating and Baking Show and the three day event – from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 – will ensure attendees have ample opportunity to bask in cake heaven: icing, sprinkles, and hundreds and thousands of ideas! One of the best parts of baking is getting to lick the bowl – and you pretty much get this opportunity at the ExCel centre, as tasting is paramount to the experience. Chocoholics can nab free tastes in the chocolate workshops – I mean, you’re meant to be working and learning about chocolate and eating it willy-nilly. But hey, who’s judging? Well, the judges in the competition classes… but that’s it! So select some top tips, innovative ideas, supplies and equipment; learn, enjoy, and most importantly, let them eat cake!
