Daniel Victor Snaith is a mathematician, composer and musician who currently lives in the UK. He has been making music for ten years, firstly under the name Manitoba, before legal intricacies called for a name change to Caribou. This gifted Canadian has been flowing through different musical genres like shoegaze, krautrock, folktronica and sunshine pop, assimilating it as he sees fit into his DNA. The final creations are warm, loose and rapturous with strips of purified indie electronica beats, which settle beautifully with an ambience of the ethereal. His album, 'Andorra' won the '2008 Polaris Music Prize' and his April 2010 release 'Swim' was on the '2010 Polaris Music Prize' shortlist. WinkBall citizen video reporters Oliver and Sadekur were at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on Tuesday, 22nd February 2011, to ask fans what they think about this genre of music, why they are unique and if they have any favourite songs they would like to hear tonight.
