She performs in giant champagne glasses, does burlesque, writes, acts, models and designs costumes. And now, style icon, Dita Von Teese is about release her first fragrance. The multi-talented, vintage styled celebrity was determined for her first perfume to reflect her own personal traits, making the perfume an irresistible aromatic fusion that is “elegant, glamorous, sophisticated, sexy, dark, and mysterious.” The idea of creating her own fragrance always appealed to Dita Von Teese, being a woman who wore the same fragrance for 20 years and developed her signature scent. That was until she found out that her boyfriend’s mother was also wearing the same perfume! In the search for a new scent to replace her no-longer-signature scent, Dita refused to settle for anything but a fragrance that smelled absolutely perfect – a fragrance that smelled absolutely Dita Von Teese. Drawing from her admiration for 20th century fashion and beauty icons like Marlene Dietrich and Hedy Lemarr, Dita made sure that she didn’t make her scent too feminine or playful with something fruity or vanilla-scented. Mystery, darkness and seduction in a bottle- with a black tassle. That’s what Dita wanted to create. The brand new 1930s enriched fragrance launches on May 1 at London’s Liberty, with Dita making an appearance at the shop until midday to autograph the bottle for customers.
