Born in 1961, Angie Stone is a Grammy-nominated American R & B, hip-hop, neo-soul singer and actress. Stone's music has a clear old school soul influence, and her singing vocals recall those of Aretha Franklin. After releasing four successful albums, Stone's fifth, 'Unexpected' differed from those previously. She explained 'I just wanted to have FUN! I wanted to do something that embodied a jam kinda feel, so that we could have some fun in concert.' Hopefully this would be the case for fans at the Jazz Cafe!
