Turin Brakes consist of Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian and hail from Balham in South London. The modern folk duo released their first album ‘The Optimist LP’ in 2001 to critical praise and featured the hit singles ‘Underdog (Save Me)’ and ‘Emergency 72’. It was also nominated for a Mercury Prize. 2010 saw the release of their first studio album since 2007’s ‘Something Out of Nothing EP’ with ‘Outbursts’ which sees a return to their edgier origins.
