Flamenco London Festival: Vicente Amigo at Sadlers Wells

Event Date: 08/02/2012

Nothing says passion like a performance of the staccato-style Spanish Flamenco – and Sadler’s Wells Theatre will be celebrating this very fact, as it hosts two weeks of top-flight flamenco performances in the Flamenco Festival London 2012. Singers, dancers and musicians from Spain, and worldwide, will be transforming the theatre into a colorful and passionate array of sight and sound for its visitors to enjoy and explore over the two-week course of shows. This Flamenco Festival, the ninth to be hosted in London, will travel through the history of the famous Spanish and gypsy style dance; from its originating roots of Andalucia, to the more contemporary interpretations of the movement. WinkBall will be there for the opening night of this eagerly awaited dance event, where Latin Grammy Award winner, Vicente Amigo, is performing. The flamenco composer and hugely accomplished guitarist is considered one of the best of his generation, and has a fantastic reputation for his innovative collaborations with artists external to the world of flamenco. We wanted to hear from the audience on their way to see Vicente and his fellow flamenco artists. How has flamenco and it’s style touched their hearts?
