Parliamentary Pancake Race London

Event Date: 21/02/2012

Taking place outside the Houses of Parliament, Tuesday 21st February 2012, or as the general public know it, Shrove Tuesday, was the date for the 15th annual parliamentary pancake race. A contest that puts members of the Houses of Parliament against members of the press, the pancake race is the MPs chance to get a bit of revenge on the press who normally always give them a battering! Raising funds and awareness for charity Rehab UK, an organisation that helps a number of disabled and socially excluded people, the pancake race was proud to have amongst its participants Steve Pound MP, BBC journalist Nick Robinson and BBC news reader Natasha Kaplinksy. Who would take home the coveted tin-cup? Both MPs and members of the British media battled it out to prove who in fact were the biggest tossers? WinkBall video reporters Stefan and Daniel were down in Westminster to speak to the participants of the fifteenth annual pancake race to find out more about the event and to see what topping everybody loves most on a pancake!
