West Brom v Wolves FC

Event Date: 16/10/2011

On Sunday, 16th October 2011, The Hawthorns home ground of West Bromwich Albion was the scene of one of the fiercest rivalries in the Premier League between local West Midlands rivals West Brom and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Both clubs have found themselves in the bottom half of the table, and a win today would have pushed either side into the top half of the Premier League. The Wolves started brightly in the first half, but the hosts began to gain control of the possession. In the unseasonably hot weather, they managed to start grinding the visitors down with their attacking play, and when Chris Brunt scored after only eight minutes, it looked as though the Wolves were going to be playing ‘catch up’. The game was then evenly balanced in the second half until the arrival through a late substitution of Baggie’s talisman, Peter Odemwengie, who sealed the victory with a late strike that condemned the Wolves to their fifth defeat in a row and saw the home side climb up the table to Twelfth. WinkBall video reporters were there speaking to fans from both teams to see what they thought of the day’s events both before and after the match. Were you at The Hawthorns but missed us? Or are you a fan of either of these teams? Then now is your chance to have your say by recording it to this exclusive match day video wall.
