Britannia Grand Prix: Shooting

Event Date: 14/04/2011

Shooting is one of Great Britain's most successful sports with Britain winning a total of 29 Olympic gold medals. Shooting at the Olympics will be split into three types, Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun. With Team GB out to increase their medal haul for shooting in 2012, the games will promise to be an exciting event for those involved in the discipline. For the London 2012 games, shooting will be held at the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, South East London. In the run up to the games, many of Team GB's hopefuls will be preparing themselves with numerous shooting events across the country. One such event that holds high esteem in the shooting world is the Britannia Grand Prix, for many years this Olympic Skeet competition has set the standard that many Olympic hopefuls must reach if they want to be strongly considered for the games. Based in Dorchester, WinkBall video reporters were there to speak to some of the event's organisers and it's competitors. Speaking to a number of high profile shooters who hope to compete at the 2012 Games, WinkBall asked them how they got into shooting, how they feel about the Olympic games coming to London in 2012 and what they feel this will do for London and Great Britain.
