Wednesday 14th December 2011 – Forget walking, Brixton Academy had its audience jamming in a Winter wonderland at the XFM Winter Wonderland festive knees-up for all things rock and indie. The mighty Kaiser Chiefs were heading the bill, unleashing some of their classics on the ears of south London. Plenty more guitar groups preceded the Leeds lads, including Southampton trio, Band Of Skulls and big fan favourites, The Maccabees. There was a tinge of disappointment at the absence of The Horrors, due to a bit of seasonal sickness but the legendary Manic Street Preachers more than made up for it when they launched into a raucous rendition of Wham!’s Last Christmas.
