Morrissey at Brixton Academy

Event Date: 08/08/2011

WinkBall citizen video reporters Daniel, Nia and Tommy were at Brixton Academy where legendary singer and lyricist Morrissey performed before a sold-out crowd. Steven Patrick Morrissey is regarded by a plethora of music entities as one of the most influential artists ever. Starting his career in the band "The Smiths" and eventually moving on to solo endeavours, he has been an innovator of indie music, recording wide success in a group and scoring 10 top 10 songs as a solo artist. His dramatic and funny vignettes surrounding doomed relationships, burdens of the pasts and prisons have established him as "one of the most singular figures in Western popular culture from the last twenty years" according to Pitchfork Media. In 2011, he is still going strong, and WinkBall was there at his gig to ask fans what they were expecting from the concert as well as what their favourite song and album of his are. After his performance they gave their verdict. If you are a fan of Morrissey, then why not record a message for the musician?
