Lana Del Rey: Jazz Cafe

Alana

Alana

Few stars shoot into the stratosphere as fast as Lana Del Rey has in the past 12 months. After self-releasing the video for the hauntingly beautiful 'Video Games', Lana found herself the subject of an online firestorm of hype and controversy, leading to sold-out gigs on both sides of the Atlantic before she'd even finished recording her debut album. Luckily for Lana (and everyone else), ‘Born To Die’ proved to be a stunning success, selling over a million copies worldwide and reaching number one in seven countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany and the UK – not bad for someone completely unknown a year ago. Dubbed the ‘gangster Nancy Sinatra’, Lana brought her New York-bred blend of sadcore indie pop and alt. hip hop to Camden’s Jazz Café on April 10 for an intimate, surprising and very special gig. WinkBall Video Reporters Lucy and Laura were there to speak to fans and gather their reviews on Lana.
