Queens Park Rangers 2-1 Arsenal. West Londoners Q.P.R gave their survival chances in the Premiership a massive boost as they defeated London rivals Arsenal 2-1 at Loftus Road on Saturday, 31st March 2012, ending the North London team's recent eight game unbeaten run in the league. A goal from play maker Adel Taarabt gave Rangers the early advantage when his effort from outside the box shot past Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny into the right hand bottom corner of the goal. This fantastic start was soon ruled out by the Gunners when winger Theo Walcott fired into an open goal to make it one a piece on the 36th minute. QPR soon clawed back an advantage when Samba Diakite scored his first goal as a Rangers player, making it 2-1 to the home side. A late effort from Arsenal's talisman Robin Van Persie produced a vital save from Rangers keeper Paddy Kenny to ensure all three points would stay in West London. This victory will no doubt prove to be priceless for Mark Hughes' men as they keep pace with other struggling teams around them at the bottom of the league table. The win is yet again another high profile scalp for Rangers after their recent heroic comeback against Liverpool where they managed to bring back a 0-2 deficit to win 3-2. With this defeat however for Arsenal, the magnificent run the team has been under came to an end. Still in third position, the Gunners failed to further their hold on to the automatic Champions League spot and go six points clear of rivals Tottenham Hotspur. WinkBall video reporters Fred and Dan were at Loftus Road speaking to fans to find out their score predictions and discuss the latest news surrounding their teams.
