Mother and daughter Dollar and Sarah came to the Royal Opera House to watch the ballet. They were looking forward to the performance.
The Royal Opera House opened its doors to families on Saturday, 1st October as they were able to enjoy a world class cultural experience at a reduced price. The ‘Welcome Performance’ involved a series of special matinees of opera and ballet put on specifically for families who may never have been to The Royal Opera House before. Adults and children were able to participate in talks, workshops and activities before seeing the pros in action, themselves. Families could even visit back stage and watch the mechanics as the opera set turned into the ballet set between shows. The show itself was Gianni Schicchi and Rubies, giving families both opera and ballet to experience on this fantastic occasion. WinkBall video reporters were at this special event and asked attendees what part of the day they had participated in and which part of the day they had enjoyed the most.
