On Saturday 17th December 2011, Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square was the venue for the London Gay Men's Chorus Christmas Party; Make Mine a Snowball. An annual event put on by the choir, this year's Christmas Party promised to be another heartwarming and joyful treat full of festive cheer and complete with renditions of Christmas classics such as Let It Snow, Santa Baby and Walking In A Winter Wonderland. Formed originally in 1991 by a group of six gay men, the London Gay Men's Chorus has gone from strength to strength and has become Europe's largest and best known gay choir with them boasting around 190 singing members and over 230 members in total. The choir itself has performed alongside musical stars the likes of Sir Elton John and The Human League and have played at prestigious venues such as The Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House. Their mission through their music, is to enrich society and touch people whilst at the same time challenging stereotype. The London Gay Men's Chorus proved once again why they are a musical hit with this fantastic Christmas celebration of life and music. WinkBall video reporters Zoe and Lucio were at the event speaking to the many attendants of the Christmas Party and also many of the choir's most involved members. Asking them about the importance of events such as these and what events like these mean for the gay community, WinkBall got a unique flavour of the event and discovered more about the London Gay Men's Chorus and it's importance and social significance.
