Weezer at Brixton Academy

Event Date: 07/07/2011

WinkBall citizen video reporter Tom and Nia were at the Brixton Academy on Wednesday 6th July 2011 where the Weezer were performing. The American Rock band Weezer formed in 1992 the band’s success came from hit singles including, ‘Say It Ain’t So,’ ‘Buddy Holly’ and ‘Beverley Hills,’ helping the band accumulate the sale of nearly 10 million records in the US. Their most recent album, ‘Hurley, released in September 2010, was been named after an actor from American drama series ‘Lost,’ which to other band’s may be seen as unusual. Not Weezer. It seems the band have gone back to basics with their uplifting, fun, power-pop sound which has brought them to our attention for the past two decades. We spoke to fans ahead of the gig, asking them what they expected and also after the gig on what they made of the band’s performance. Have your say and post on our wall below!
