The cockney comedic styling’s of Micky Flanagan graced Newcastle City hall and we at Winkball were there to talk to the fans. With a plethora of successful stand-up tours, TV appearances and radio shows you would think that it all came easy for Mr Flanagan. However, after coming to comedy in his late 30s, it took years of hard work before he was finally recognised with his first headline act at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007 and he was first seen on TV in 2009 on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy road show. With his genuinely likeable brand of working class humour and Cockney charm, it seems that Micky will only go on to become even more prolific in his production of top quality comedy. It’s nice to see hard work pay off isn’t it?
