Presented by Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre in association with MasterCard, West End LIVE is the world's largest free theatre festival and has showcased great entertainment in Trafalgar Square. The event is in its eighth year and features performances from every major West End musical including Blood Brothers, Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera for the first time. Other performances include Dreamboats and Petticoats, Horrible Histories, Matilda The Musical, Ragtime The Musical, Singin’ in the Rain, Sweeney Todd and Top Hat. The event, which attracted over half a million people last year will run as a part of the London 2012 Festival which has been running from June 21st to September 9th, the closing day of the Paralympic Games, has been allowing for the whole of London to share in the elation for upcoming games. On Sunday 24th June 2012, WinkBall video reporters Darryl and Fred were at West End LIVE speaking to attendees and discovering what had brought them down, which events and performances they had seen and what they thought of them? Speaking to a range of people at the event, WinkBall captured a great insight into the fantastic array performances and discovered more about the benefits of presenting the arts in an arena for all to enjoy and for free!
