On the weekend of 11-13th June, the festival season kicked off with the Isle of Wight festival hosting some of the biggest music names from across the world. Jay-Z, Florence and the Machine, The Strokes, Sir Paul McCartney and other musical icons took centre stage. Our WinkBall reporters went to the heart of the Isle of Wight capturing the sights, sounds and opinions of the festival goers. Speaking to music fans across the festival, from within the campsite to around the main stage to the arduous walk from the campsite to the music, WinkBall reporters asked the festival goers who they were looking forward to seeing play, what they love about festivals, what they felt was unique about the Isle of Wight festival and if they had any hot tips on how to survive a festival!
