DecAid - Ride2Remember

Event Date: 24/09/2011

The Plaza Shopping Centre on Oxford Street was the venue for London’s part in The DecAid Ride2Remember on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September. Seven cities across the country competed to ‘cycle to Afghanistan’ for charity, the twist being that the ride would take place on static bikes. The event gave the general public an opportunity to show their support for our troops on the 10th anniversary of the war on Afghanistan and raise funds for two outstanding forces charities; SSAFA Forces Help and BLESMA. To show support members of the public took turns to ride the three bikes as the two charities collected donations throughout the day. With many people’s friends and families risking their lives and taking the ultimate sacrifice by serving our country, the general public showed their appreciation to the WinkBall video reporters at this fantastic fundraising event.
