Edinburgh Fringe Festival 20/08/11

Event Date: 21/08/2011

The Edinburgh Fringe 2011 has been up and running now for a few weeks and Winkball have decided to get in on the act. The biggest festival in the world is now in its 64th year and has once again grown since last year. The festival welcomes the best of the UK’s comedic talent including the likes of Al Murray, Ed Byrne and Sarah Millican. It also has a history as being the breeding ground for the next big comic, with Comedians like Eddy Izzard and Steve Coogan being discovered at the Fringe. However, it’s not just the big guys that get to play, free street performances are all around the city by Comics, Actors, Dancers, Circus performers, Martial arts specialists and even the odd band as they aim to make a name for themselves at the Worlds biggest Arts festival. We were at the festival on the 20/08/11 talking to festival goers from all over the world about the Fringe and asking them what they had seen so far. We also chatted to people at a couple of shows including the Ballet Ruse and The Gentlemen of Leisure. So keep your eyes on Winkball for more coverage of the festival as it begins to draw to a close next week and keep your eyes out for an exclusive with comedian Trevor Lock.
