Guandong Acrobatic Troupe is the internationally acclaimed Chinese dance troupe that fuses elements of Peking Opera, classical dance and Chinese folk acrobatics together making a sensational version of the classic Swan Lake. With their seamless fusion of breath-taking aerial feats and magnificent classical dance, Guandong’s principle dancers have been catapulted into international stardom while thrilling audiences all around the world. The dance troupe, who founded in 1951, is China’s foremost acrobatic company producing astonishing performances that push imagination, physicality and technology to their limits portraying a new modern perspective to their Chinese folk traditions. WinkBall video reporters Jack and Ola were there at the Birmingham Hippodrome on Wednesday, 25th August, and asked the attendees what they hoped to see and, after the gig, for a review of their night.
