Jimeoin ‘Lovely!’: The Bloomsbury Theatre
The Irish/Australian super stand-up comic Jimeoin took to the stage at The Bloomsbury Theatre for his lovely ‘Lovely!’ tour.
His move from Northern Ireland to Australia, over a decade ago, obviously did his funny bones some good, as Jimeoin developed his relaxed, cheeky and surreal – but still Irish – ‘craic’. Sell out tours and plenty of top-selling CDs and DVDs is proof of his capability of causing consuming laughter – not only across his adoptive Australia, but internationally too.
UK audiences may recognise him from televised performances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks, Best Of Just For Laughs and Best of Edinburgh Comedy Festival. Not to mention his stands on The Royal Variety Show and Live At The Apollo stages.
His surreal sense of humour is basely about pure laughter – zero agenda or pretention – just good, old fashioned, ridiculous observational comedy.
Audiences for ‘Lovely’ are in for a treat if he explains his ‘Speed of Cheese’ concept. (Here’s a clue: it is uncannily similar to the Speed of Light…)
