Despite football being one of the main talking points this British summer, what would any summer be like without a host of music festivals for music lovers to enjoy? The festival season was officially kicked off at the weekend in the heart of London’s East End where Victoria Park hosted the much popular music festival Lovebox. Unlike any other music festival, Lovebox has within it a unique quality, with the music and the experience it brings being a huge focal point for drawing in crowds. Always a popular festival choice for those festival goers who aren’t the camping type, Lovebox brings in Londoners from all corners of the city capital to East London’s Victoria Park to experience the musical euphoria and experience that Lovebox brings.
Now in its tenth year as a festival, Lovebox hoped to go one better than their hugely successful effort last year in 2011 and make their tenth year one to remember. With Glastonbury taking a breather this year, Lovebox would no doubt aim to put their names on the festival map and prove they are top dog this summer when it comes to putting on a special music festival. Lovebox was clearly the place to be at the weekend and fans came in great number to soak up the atmosphere and all round good vibes the festival would be creating.
WinkBall captured the fans of the tenth annual Lovebox Festival on the rare, rain-free Saturday the 16th June 2012 at Victoria Park, London. Armed with Wellies and raincoats the Lovebox fans shared what they love about Lovebox and why they prefer it to the other festivals that are around this summer.
Curated by Groove Armada this year's line-up featured Emeli Sandé, Rita Ora, Lana del Rey, Friendly Fries, Maverick Sabre, Kelis and many more. See what the exhilarated fans of this lovely festival have to say about it!
