On Saturday, 12th May 2012, the London Symphony Orchestra had a free open-air performance at Trafalgar Square, a treat for all classical music lovers. Presented by Paul Rissmann and led by conductor Valery Gergiev, the show featured Igor Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite” and “The Rite of Spring”. The orchestra set up two big screens for the audience to have a better look of the performance. The LSO will feature 150 children performing, as a part of their ‘LSO Discovery’ education programme. The Trafalgar Square concert is slated for repeat in 2013 and 2014 with details for these future events still to be announced.
