NME - The Naked and Famous at Heaven

Event Date: 16/02/2011

The Naked and Famous are a five piece New Zealand Rock band whose name originates from a Tricky lyric. The group formed as a duo when Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith met at a music school in Auckland in 2008. The pair grew up listening to Massive Attack, Bjork, PJ Harvey and Tricky and their music reflects these influences, which can be described as a hybrid of synth tones and curious percussions mixed in with psychedelic dream pop, seducing the audience into a soulful spin of indie, pop delight. This year NME will be putting on live performances at London's best gigging venues leading up to the NME Awards, where The Naked and Famous, Spark and Wolf Gang are a part of these celebrations. WinkBall citizen video reporters Georgina and Jess were at Heaven on Tuesday, 15th February 2011, asking fans which band they came to see, what songs they are looking forward to hearing and if they enjoyed the concert.
