Sufjan Stevens is an American singer-songwriter and musician who was born in Detroit, Michigan. He began his career in 1999 when he released 'A Sun Came', on the label 'Ashmatic Kitty' which he co-founded with his step-father. He is best known for his fifth studio album, 'Illinois' which he released in 2005 and hit number one in the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. Sufjan has released different albums of varying genre's, from the electronica of 'Enjoy the Rabbit', the lo-fi folk of 'Seven Swans', the symphonic instrumentation of 'Illinois' and the Christmas motif, 'Songs for Christmas'. This talented musician makes use of many different instruments which he often plays himself on the same recording and writes his music in different time signatures. WinkBall citizen video reporters Lucio and Sophia were at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday, 12th May 2011, to ask the fans what they like about his music, their favourite songs and albums and if they have a message for him.
