WECH Meeting

WECH Meeting

Walterton & Elgin Community Homes, commonly known as WECH hosted their AGM on Wednesday 21st September, in an evening for landlords and tenants to have their say on the resident controlled housing association. The association shows "how resident control can not only revitalise the physical environment of run- down estate but also create sustainable and inclusive communities from the bottom up" www.wech.co.uk The scheme encourages increased participants, with each one vital to providing a more responsive system and better quality housing. The bottom up structure enables WECH to work in an inclusive way, giving power to landlords and tenants who are more able to voice their opinion on anything which may be mutually beneficial. This open communication between the stakeholders has provided a better living environment, higher quality of homes and lives for WECH residents. WinkBall video reporters were at their Harrow Road AGM where residents told us whats best about being involved with WECH, the biggest problem WECH have solved for them and whether there are any improvements which could be made.
