Wales v Ireland

Event Date: 14/03/2011

On Saturday, 12th March 2011, WinkBall citizen video reporters April, Christian, Flaminia, Jess, Louis, Sadekur and Siobhan were at Millennium Stadium where Wales squared up against Ireland for a RBS 6 Nations Championship match-up. In a nail biting face-off, Wales saw the men in green pack their bags by claiming a 19-13 victory. Rugby matches rarely come as exciting as this! The two rivals came at each other with everything they had, driven only by a desire for victory and casting little thought to their own safety. The visceral nature of the clash was only equalled by the sheer amount of tension that built as the game progressed. The climax saw an enraged Ireland fall victim to a mistake made by the officials who incorrectly allowed Wales to take a quick line-out. A decision that would ultimately cost them the game. Ireland had only lost once in Cardiff since 1983. One of the remarkable facts of the game is that Ireland were actually 13-9 in front at half time. Wales' ability to hold under the kind of pressure that has caused better teams to fold and then take the win has redefined the teams image and may well be the making of them. Our reporters were on hand to capture the passion, asking fans from both sides for match predictions and their players to look out for. After the game we gathered match reports and found out how the fans were feeling. If YOU were there an we missed you, please record a wink and let us know what you thought of the game!
