Thousands of fans came to Leicester Square in London’s West End on Tuesday 3rd July 2012 for the UK Premiere of the new documentary film ‘Part of Me’ starring American pop starlet Katy Perry. Chronicling the two sides of her life, the Katy Perry we see on stage, and the other being the Katy Perry behind the scenes, backstage and meeting the fans; the film gives a real insight into what it is like to be one of the world’s biggest female pop stars. Looking at her humble beginnings as a young girl as part of a normal family with a Christian upbringing, ‘Part of Me’ also traces her rise to stardom and shows how driven she was to succeed and how she got her first taste of music. Not always showing the bright side to fame and musical stardom, the film also promises to explore how Katy’s constant media attention affects her personal life, most notably her high profile divorce from Russell Brand. A warts and all documentary that will reveal much about Katy Perry, fans should go away after watching the film, discovering a great deal more about Katy, her life and music. The film, shown in 3D, is a must see for fans of Katy Perry and my there were certainly a few that had come down to see the film premiere at the ODEON Leicester Square. Hoping to see a glimpse of the “Firework” singer, some fans were lucky enough to win tickets to the screening of the film thanks to an online Twitter competition. Down at Leicester Square to speak to the many Katy Perry fans, were WinkBall video reporters Darryl and Zoe.
