QPR v Crystal Palace

Event Date: 12/03/2011

QPR’s seemingly unstoppable march towards a return to the ‘promised land’ of the Premiership hit the skids this week. Tuesday night’s shock 2-0 reverse at Millwall was soon followed by media speculation that the Superhoops face a possible points deduction as a result of alleged improprieties in the transfer of key Argentine midfielder, Alejandro Faurlin. These events only served to add further spice to today’s London derby against Crystal Palace at Loftus Road. With the Eagles in desperate need of points to ease their relegation fears, the game promised to be a nerve jangling, keenly contested affair! WinkBall citizen reporters Mark, Tara, Tom, Larissa and Daniel were on hand to ask the fans of both teams why this particular match is so important, which player wears their team shirt with the most pride and passion, and why they follow their team and football in general. Fans were also asked whether the role of the referee is the most difficult in football, perhaps as a result of a decline in respect for football officials in general, and do some high profile managers, players and or even fans have an undue influence on the decisions made by the officials.
