British BMX Series - Round 4

Event Date: 23/05/2011

The breakneck speed, the heart-stopping stunts and the nail biting tension give BMX racing its extremely exciting and inviting edge. The sport is open to riders of all ages and what once was a favourite pastime for young men has now become and event for all the family. Up to eight riders race Moto-cross-style, around a 300-400m track filled with jumps, bumps and berms (banked corners). The infectious nature and popularity of the sport has even caught the attention of the International Olympic committee who has since made BMX an Olympic sport. WinkBall citizen video reporters Laura, Matt and Silvia were at the Dagenham BMX Track in Old Dagenham Park capturing the passion of the riders and spectators.
