Viva la revolucion! Or so they say… Aaron Cash and Roclan Gonzalez Chavez have choreographed a revolutionary dance spectacular, fusing ballet with contemporary dance and hip hop. It is an electrifying production of stunning moves and passionate music, as the company is comprised of amazing live musicians performing popular hits from Latin artists like Shakira and Ricky Martin. The dancers are Cuban and bring a phenomenal athleticism and flair to the combination and transgression between ballet, salsa, samba and even some martial arts moves. The show has already wowed audiences across Australia, so Cash, Chavez and co. are ready to bring London to life with a choreographed Cuban experience that will alight passion and creativity alike. We asked the audience for their opinions on this modernisation of ballet, as it fused together contemporary dance with ballet – as well as sounds of Beyonce, Shakira and Ricky Martin. Does it help to encourage a new kind of audience to the Theatre? And is this an important thing to do?
