Boxing Interview at Hayes Working Mens Club

Event Date: 04/03/2011

On Thursday 3rd March 2011, WinkBall citizen video reporters Anthony, George, Scott and Steve were at Hayes Working Mens Club. The Amateur Boxing Association of England Ltd (ABAE) is the only national governing body for boxing recognised by Sport England. It is responsible for the governance, development and administration of boxing in schools, clubs and competition. Most of the competitors have been boxing between two and five years and are at the tournament to further their career. These dedicated athletes follow a fitness strict regime that involves training twice a day, six days a week. Winning here means they qualify to compete in the London ABA tournaments, then the Nationals and hopefully getting a trail for team GB along the way for 2012. We asked the young boxers, officials and fans how passionate they are about boxing, why they love the sport and to name their boxing heroes.
