Ordinarily Friday the 13th is a duvet day, stay in bed and little can go wrong. However when Mr Ben E King is in town and playing at Camden’s Jazz Café you can ‘Stand By Me’, it’ll be a good night. Ben E King has been entertaining audiences since 1958, the line-ups may have changed since The Five Crowns and The Drifters but the man and his voice have not. As one of The Drifters and as a solo artist, Ben E King has had a number of memorable number one hits like "There Goes My Baby," "Save The Last Dance For Me," "Stand By Me," "Supernatural Thing." The smart people that sneered in the face of superstition and ventured out were treated to plenty of old favourites from Ben E King’s back catalogue and other classics from the ‘60s and ‘70s eras like “Mustang Sally”, “Under the Board Walk”. As the audience left the Jazz Café smiling from ear to ear “In The Midnight Hour” WinkBall citizen reporters Dan and Lucy where there to get the audience reaction and reviews of the show.
