Wah Wah Girls - East London meets Bollywood on stage at Sadler’s Wells – Peacock Theatre! Set against the background of the East End 2012, Wah Wah Girls is a passionate and playful story of love against the odds. Inspired by the Mujra dancers, the audience were treated to spellbinding, rich and powerful mixture of dance and song. The show was written by Tanika Gupta acclaimed playwright of (White Boy, Sugar Mummies) and directed by Emma Rice, multi award-winning director of The Red Shoes and Brief Encounter. Lighting and sound design were by Malcolm Rippeth and Simon Baker respectively and the vibrant stage and customs was by Keith Khan. This production is part of World Stages London’s two-month celebration of the capital’s diversity through a series of breath taking shows. This will be collaboration between leading London theatres, with shows created by both home-grown talent and international artists.
