Considered one of his signature masterpieces, Lloyd Webber’s epic musical is a story set to timeless songs and unforgettable music. A tangled story of love between the mysterious Phantom and the beautiful Christine; Christine is torn between the Phantom and her other love Raoul, and must choose who her heart belongs to. The original production that hit the West End over 25 years ago, of course featured the memorable performance of Michael Crawford in the title role of the Phantom and the legendary Soprano Sarah Brightman as Christine. Their portrayal of the two lovers is considered the benchmark performance for any production of Phantom. Featuring songs the likes of “The Phantom of the Opera” and “The Music of the Night”, the show has touched the hearts of millions and will continue to astound audiences for years to come. Now playing at Her Majesty’s Theatre, on Tuesday 31st July 2012, WinkBall video reporters Alex and Archie, headed down to speak to theatre goers that had come to see the show. Speaking to them, they asked what they were expecting from the performance and what was it they loved about The Phantom of the Opera.
