Event Date: 21/05/2011

Friday 20th May 2011 saw The Christians at Pacific Road Arts Centre in Birkenhead. They were supported by Ragz who looks to be destined to great things. Ragz is a singer-songwriter hailing from Norway, possessing a sweet, soaring voice known to captivate and move her audiences. She weaves intricate melodies with her emotive vocal, at times unconventional, yet rooted in the traditions of classic song-writing. As well as The Christians, Ragz has supported Wild Beasts, Laura Marling, Mumford and Sons, Adem, Jesca Hoop, Noah and the Whale, Delays, Karima Francis, Ian McNabb, David Ford, Foy Vance, Thea Gilmore and The Kooks. Ragz spoke to WinkBall directly after coming off-stage. She tells us about her career to date and how important the internet is to up and coming artists. We will also soon be talking to Garry Christian, in the lead up to Chester Rocks Festival, where The Christians will be performing. The Christians were formed in the mid-80’s by brothers Garry, Roger and Russell Christian along with Henry Priestman. Their first three singles all made the Top 40 and their self-titled debut album ‘The Christians’ entered the UK charts at Number Two. WinkBall reporters Sean and Laura were down at The Pacific Road to speak to the fans of both tonight’s acts and also have some exclusive footage of Ragz in action.
