The next Big Thing is what music fans are perpetually seeking – but seek no more, as HMV have created a series of gigs called just that: ‘The Next Big Thing’, bringing these bands and artists on the brink to six venues across London.
This sneak-peek series is going on over ten days, for just ten pounds per gig! Quite a bargain to discover the stars of tomorrow.
Tonight’s Big Thing’s are being hosted at The Borderline - a perfect place to hear new and upcoming sounds.
Starring at The Borderline for this NBT show was the stunning Emeli Sande. You probably already recognize the name? That’s because, while HMV’s Next Big Thing line up is presenting its audiences with a plethora or performers they haven’t heard of – but are set to blow – there will also be a few recognized acts who have already started their ascension into the nation’s musical conscious.
Sande appears to have come out of nowhere to set herself confidently as a reputable major label addition. She completely embodies what it means to be a creative modern artist – a smart, talented, mesmerizing performer.
Sande has an air that suggests she knows what she wants, she knows who she is as a performer and knows how to create songs, words and melodies, that matter.
Hear how Sande and her fellow Next Big Thing performers Daley and Josh Osho, fared at the Borderline on Thursday 9th February 2012.
