Tina was at Goodwood on ladies day on behalf of Great Ormond Street and was thankful for some glorious Great British weather!
Thursday 28th July saw Glorious Goodwood live up to its name with a fantastic day’s racing for avid race goers. On a sunny afternoon fit for ladies day, the British Champions Series continued with the Goodwood Cup taking centre stage. The big race of the day didn’t disappoint, with a photo finish deciding the outcome. The victory was fought out between Opinion Poll, Lost In The Moment, Blue Bajan and Fox Hunt, with Opinion Poll ridden by fans favourite Frankie Dettori coming out on top. The race had been led by Overturn, ridden by successful jockey Richard Hughes who had previously lost out on Wednesday on board Canford Cliffs. Despite his advantage on the home straight the Irishman was to be beaten again, as Dettori picked up his pace in the final furlongs to hold off challenger Lost In The Moment who was also making a late surge. WinkBall video reporters were at Goodwood asking race goers what it is they like about a day at the races and where their money was likely to be placed!
