Arsenal v Liverpool

Event Date: 21/08/2011

Liverpool visited the Emirates stadium on Saturday 20th August with both sides looking for their first league win of the season. Having lost influential, now ex-skipper, Cesc Fabregas to club champions Barcelona, Arsene Wenger's side had a lot to prove to fans about the future of their club. With many injury problems and a lack of summer spending the Arsenal chief was forced in to fielding inexperienced players such as Frimpong, who took part in a less recognisable team. This inexperience took its toll on the home side as they eventually went down to a 2-0 defeat to a Liverpool side on the up under 'King Kenny' Dalglish. Much of the game was however evenly fought and it wasn't until the rash Frimpong was sent off for two bookable offences that Liverpool were able to take advantage. So an Aaron Ramsay own goal and Luis Suarez tap in ensured three points returned to Merseyside and left increasing pressure on Arsenal's once untouchable Frenchman. WinkBall video reporters were at the Emirates and asked fans what they thought about the season ahead and for a prediction of the score on the day. If you want your say, post on the wall below!
