The RAF In Concert: Symphony Hall, Birmingham

Event Date: 27/10/2011

On Wednesday, 26th October 2011, WinkBall video reporters Feona and Izzy were at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham to see The RAF In Concert and join the Bands of the Royal Air Force as they honoured the bravery and commitment of the armed forces, past and present, who made important, yet often unrecognised contributions on behalf of the nation with a concert of classic songs and marching tunes. Musical highlights include Eric Coates’s rousing theme “The Dambuster’s March”, Elgar’s “Nimrod”, “South Rampart Street”, “Oh What A Beautiful Morning”, “Habanera”, “Ashokan Farewell”, “RAF Marches Tribute”, “There’ll Always Be An England”, “Flying Home”, “On the Street Where You Live”, a newly-commissioned piece by Barry Hingley called “The Mighty Hercules”, concluding with an uplifting musical finale from World War Two entitled “Songs That Saw Us Through”. This concert was staged in support of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. We spoke to members of the audience both before and after tonight's performance to get their reactions to it and to see what they had to say. If you want to have your say, then record your own views to this video wall.
