Bolton’s famous son, award winning comedian Peter Kay, first came to the public’s attention in 1996 when he was awarded the ‘North West Comedian of the Year’. Since then, he has won another four British Comedy Awards. He has also written, directed and performed in ‘That Peter Kay Thing’, ‘Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere’ and two series of the Bafta winning ‘Phoenix Nights’. Tonight he plays the first of five nights at The Echo Arena in the prestigious setting of The Albert Dock in Liverpool. This is his first national tour since his award winning ‘Mum Wants a Bungalow Tour’ seven years ago. He is playing a total of 80 nights around the UK with 750,000 tickets sold to date.
