Manchester Fashion Week 2012

Manchester Fashion Week 2012

Manchester has always had style. It’s time we celebrated it. Manchester Fashion Week brought five days of catwalk shows from international and home-grown designers. Five days of new trends, new talent, and the best collections for 2012. Five days any self-respecting fashion fan will not want to miss. The aim of the event was to showcase the best of both retail fashion and up-and-coming designers at a series of daily catwalk shows all in the same building over at Spinningfields in the city centre. The Avenue North venue was perhaps more of a building site than organisers had prepared for, although they worked to emphasise the industrial nature of the setting rather than completely hide it. The catwalk shows were staged at regular intervals each day, with each show individually ticketed to paying guests. Highlights for me included Manchester’s own Nadine Merabi, fresh from her debut catwalk collection at London Fashion Week. Her show had a real sense of occasion, and glamour that every girl aspires to. Do you have a view on Manchester Fashion Week? Leave your views online now.
