London Rollergirls, one of the UK's diverse flat-track roller derby leagues, took to the track on Saturday 11th December, in Earl's Court. WinkBall video reporters were offside to witness two close bouts between the Steam Rollers and Ultraviolent Femmes, and the Suffra Jets against the Harbour Grudges. For the first time, skaters who wish to join the main London Rollergirl league had a chance to tryout for the team. Hot on the heels of a hugely successful resurgence in the United States, we spoke to the teams to find out more about the London Rollergirls, who have brought the new revival of women's flat-track roller derby to the UK. WinkBall citizen reporters also spoke to the fans to find out how and why they decided to take interest in the unique and unfamiliar game.
