WinkBall video reporters Jack and Ola went to the historic Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Friday. 2nd September 2011, to see the legend that is Van Morrison perform to a sold out audience of his loyal fans. Van Morrison or "Van the Man" as he is known to his fans is acclaimed as one of music's truly innovative artists, collaborating a popular blend of R&B, jazz, blues, and Celtic folk styles. Morrison, born in Belfast, Ireland in 1945, is the son of a shipyard worker who collected American jazz and blues records. Credited as being one of the most influential musicians of the last 50 years some of his hits include, "Gloria" and "Brown Eyed Girl" both of which have been covered numerous times by bands such as The Doors and The Rolling Stones. A constantly evolving and highly entertaining performer Van Morrison continues to draw new fans to him where ever he performs.
